Awards Ceremony

After careful deliberation by the judges, Contest Master Roy Kenski presented trophies in the Table Topics Contest to Ulrich Leinhase for second place and to Milo Holt for first place. He then presented a second place trophy in the International Speech Contest to Yurania Causey. After a long, dramatic Toast of Jax drum roll, Kenski presented the first place trophy to Toastmaster Jackie Pease. Jackie and Milo will represent our Club in the Area level contests, the Division level contests and beyond if all goes well, commented Kenski.

Ray Benson, Area Governor – Great contests, very competitive. Please attend the Area Contests to be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 11, at the Southside Public Library Auditorium. Contestants/participants should arrive by 6:00 p.m.

Cara Peyton –Enjoyed it. Great club.

Don Lafond – Also enjoyed it. Quite a motivated group to get out at 7:30 a.m. to improve speaking abilities.

Milo Holt – The Jacksonville Sons of Norway group placed first in the rowing competition.

David Rafanowicz – “Support America” rallies are being held today at noon in St. Augustine (in the Square) and Jacksonville (at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum, near Alltel Stadium)

Presiding Officer Jim Akers adjourned the meeting with a decidedly Presidential flourish at approximately 8:57 a.m.
