The Human Resources department had narrowed the candidate pool for a position down to a field of two individuals and invited them both in for a final written test.

After the test, the HR representative congratulated candidate Jones and immediately offered him the position.

“Just a minute here,” implored candidate Smith, “Why is he getting the job? Did he do better than I did on the test?”

“Actually,” said the HR manager, “You both got nine out of the ten test questions correct.”

“That’s not fair then,” suggested Smith, “Is it a weighted test or something? Did he get a different question wrong?”

“No,” admitted the HR person, “in fact you both missed the same question.”

“Well, why did you choose him over me then? This is beginning to sound a bit like discrimination,” alleged Smith.

“Not really,” replied the HR rep, “You see, his answer to question five was: ‘I don’t know.’ Your answer was: ‘I don’t know either.’”

Congratulations to Shauib Karim on achieving his CTM status today. Go Shauib!
