Tom Dyszkiewicz – (Spouse of Toastmaster Jackie Pease) Very organized meeting, good topics, lots of diversity.

Shauib Karim (Good News/Bad News)

Two friends absolutely loved sports and watched baseball constantly throughout their entire lives.  When they got a bit  older, they began to ponder whether there would be baseball in the afterlife, so they made a pact: the one who died first would let the other one know through a dream.

Alas, one of the friends died in his sleep one night, although he died happy since the Yankees had a big win that day. The very next night, he appeared to his friend in a dream.

"I have good news and I have bad news," he reported. "The good news is that we do have baseball in heaven. The bad news is that you'll be pitching in tomorrow’s game!" é

Announcements

Toastmaster David Rafanowicz asked that we take a moment to reflect on the fact that fellow member Dom Lemcool was out at sea, on the USS Theodore Roosevelt, during this time of war.

For those members who live in St. Johns County, Rafanowicz announced the their Congressman, John Mica, would be holding a townhall meeting at the Fruit Cove Middle School from noon to 2:00 p.m. today.

Toastmaster Rafanowicz also requested that members thoroughly read e-mails advising them when they have a position on the schedule. The e-mails include complete details of the position’s requirements and serve as a basic blueprint.

Congratulations to Ron Johnson on achieving his CTM and to Jim Akers on achieving his CL designation.

Attendance   16 members and 1 guest

Presiding Officer Jim Akers adjourned the meeting with a decidedly Presidential flourish at approximately 9:16  a.m.

Another great meeting and a good time was had by all!
