Business Meeting (George Oehl presiding) Beverly Farnell provided a report on the first meeting of the Youth Leadership Program. Beverly passed out an agenda from the meeting, reported that 18 young adults and seven club members attended, that program officers were elected, and invited Club members to attend a session. David J. Rafanowicz called for a vote on the pending written motion to change the club’s name to Toast of Jax Toastmasters. The vote carried by nearly unanimous vote of the members present. We are now officially TOAST OF JAX TOASTMASTERS. A sign-up sheet for the Division Level Table Topics and International Speech Contests – to be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, April 26 at the Ramada Inn – was circulated. Eight members and two guests signed up thus far. David J. Rafanowicz introduced and reviewed a new form to be used by the Table Topics Master at each meeting. The form will help the Topics Master identify those individuals without an assigned role and will also serve to record attendance as a data feed to a scheduling program. Regular Club Meeting Toastmaster – Danny Pritchard Word of the Day – Surpass 1: to become better, greater, or stronger than 2: to go beyond 3: to transcend the reach, capacity, or powers of Ribbon to Milo Holt for best use.
