Steve Lazar (A Coney Island Miracle)
|
A grandmother from Brooklyn took her
grandson to Coney Island. They rode the Ferris wheel, the roller coaster
and the merry-go-round. The woman bought her grandson with a cute little
hat with a propeller on top.
Soon, they were walking hand-in-hand
along the shore eating ice cream cones, when suddenly a huge wave washed
ahore and pulled the young boy out to sea.
Startled, the woman began to scream, “Oh
god, please god, my grandson, please give me back my grandson. I promise to
be a good person . . .“
As though by a miracle, the boy washed
ashore.
“Thank you god! Thank you for returning
my precious grandson!” exclaimed the woman. But then she looked down. “God,
god, he’s not breathing. Please give life back to my grandson! I promise I
will never gossip about anyone ever again. I’ll . . .”
Just then the boy began to spit up water
and started to breath again.
“Oh, thank you god, Thank you!” she
gushed. But then she looked down once again.
“And where’s the hat?”
